Stellar Miracle (SV7): The Japanese Set Behind Stellar Crown (2024)
By Dexhaul Team · October 9, 2026 · 6 min read
Japanese Stellar Miracle (SV7) released on July 19, 2024, and became English Stellar Crown (SCR / SV07) on September 13, 2024, a 56-day gap. Every card in the base set maps directly across: no JP-exclusive cards were cut from the English release.
The two boxes are not interchangeable, though.
Pack size, box size, card totals, and one crucial structural difference separate them. This guide covers the full mapping and helps you decide which version to buy.
JP-to-EN Set Mapping
Limitless TCG's SV7 card list shows 142 cards in the Japanese set. The English version expanded that to 175 cards, adding above-set Special Illustration Rares and Hyper Rares that were not part of the Japanese base set release. For the complete overview of the current SV-era set series, see the Japanese Pokémon Sets and English Equivalents guide.

What's Different in the Box
The JP and EN boxes feel nothing alike to open. A JP Stellar Miracle box gives you 30 packs of 5 cards each, totalling 150 cards per box.
The EN Stellar Crown box has 36 packs of 10 cards: 360 cards total. You get more than twice the cards per EN box, but you pay roughly four times the secondary market price.
| Feature | JP Stellar Miracle | EN Stellar Crown |
|---|---|---|
| Pack size | 5 cards | 10 cards |
| Packs per box | 30 | 36 |
| Cards per box | 150 | 360 |
| Box secondary market (Oct 2026) | $92–$108 USD | $330–$410 USD |
| ACE SPEC guarantee per box | No | Yes (1 per box) |
| Card language | Japanese only | English |
| Legal in English Pokémon play? | No (JP-text cards not legal in EN events) | Yes |
| Grading with PSA / CGC? | Yes (as Japanese versions) | Yes (as English versions) |
Key Card Crosswalk
The base-set card numbers align closely between the two releases, though the EN set assigns higher numbering to some of its additional above-set rares. Here are the most-searched Stellar Crown / Stellar Miracle cards and how they map across.
| Card | JP SV7 number | EN SCR number | Rarity tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terapagos ex | 129/142 | 127/142 | Double Rare |
| Terapagos ex (Special Illustration Rare) | 140/142 | 167/175 | Special Illustration Rare |
| Noctowl ex | 122/142 | 120/142 | Double Rare |
| Noctowl ex (Special Illustration Rare) | 138/142 | 161/175 | Special Illustration Rare |
| Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex (SIR) | 136/142 | 155/175 | Special Illustration Rare |
| Cynthia's Blissey ex (SIR) | 139/142 | 163/175 | Special Illustration Rare |
Above-set SIR numbers diverge because the EN set added rares at positions 143–175 that do not have a JP base-set equivalent. The actual card artwork and text are identical; only the collector number on the card back differs.
Japanese or English?
Both versions contain the same core cards. The decision comes down to price, how you plan to use the cards, and one structural difference that matters specifically for competitive players.
Price per pack
The JP box at $92–$108 USD secondary market works out to approximately $3.10–$3.60 per pack for 5-card packs. The EN booster bundle (six packs) runs around $60–$72 USD at current prices, roughly $10–$12 per pack for 10-card packs. On a per-card basis, the JP pack comes in cheaper when secondary market prices are used for comparison.
Play legality
Japanese-text cards are not legal in official English-language Pokémon TCG events. If you plan to use Stellar Crown cards in English Standard or Expanded tournaments, buy English. Japanese copies are legal in Japanese-language events in Japan and some specialty Asian regional events.
Language and collecting
The JP art and card layouts are often preferred by collectors who focus on display. Card text is in Japanese, which is a barrier for newer players but irrelevant for sealed collectors or anyone grading the card for its artwork. Grading services like PSA and CGC grade both versions; Japanese copies are logged separately from their English counterparts, so they do not inflate the English PSA 10 population.
The ACE SPEC guarantee (EN only)
This is the most overlooked difference between the two formats. The English Stellar Crown booster box guarantees one ACE SPEC card per 36-pack display. The JP SV7 box has no such guarantee.
ACE SPEC cards are powerful single-copy tournament staples introduced in this set. The EN guarantee makes every booster box purchase structurally reliable for competitive players building decks. For details on what else is inside each English format, see the Stellar Crown SV07 full guide.
JP collectors buying for sealed value or artwork do not benefit from this guarantee. For them, the lower price per box is the stronger argument.
English Stellar Crown: Current Formats
If you are buying English, the booster bundle is the most cost-efficient way to enter the set at current prices. The booster box secondary market price has settled well above MSRP, so a bundle, blister, or individual sleeved pack is usually the better entry point unless you need a full sealed display.
The ETB is covered separately in the Stellar Crown ETB guide, including the Pokemon Center exclusive variant with Terapagos promos.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Stellar Miracle?
Stellar Miracle (SV7) is the seventh main Scarlet and Violet expansion released in Japan on July 19, 2024. It is the direct Japanese source set for the English Stellar Crown expansion (September 13, 2024). Both feature Terapagos ex as the mascot and share the same core card lineup.
Are Stellar Miracle and Stellar Crown the same set?
Essentially yes. Every card in the JP SV7 base set has an English equivalent in Stellar Crown. The EN set added 33 above-set rares and Hyper Rares not in the JP base release.
Can I use Japanese Stellar Miracle cards in English tournaments?
No. Japanese-text cards are not legal in English-language official Pokémon TCG events. You need the English Stellar Crown version for Standard or Expanded play.
Does the Japanese Stellar Miracle box have an ACE SPEC guarantee?
No. The ACE SPEC guarantee (one per 36-pack box) was added to the English release only. JP SV7 boxes have no guaranteed ACE SPEC pull, making the EN box structurally better for competitive players.
Which is cheaper: buying Japanese Stellar Miracle or English Stellar Crown?
The JP box (30 packs) runs $92–$108 USD secondary market, versus $330–$410 USD for the EN 36-pack box. The EN booster bundle (six packs, around $60–$72 USD) is the most accessible English entry point at current prices.
